DeskZap: remote desktop software

DeskZap is remote desktop software built by our team. DeskZap Access lets you reach your own computers, such as the office PC when you work from home. DeskZap Support lets an IT person help someone on their computer with a 9-digit code that lasts five minutes, with nothing installed at the other end. Every session is end-to-end encrypted and logged.

What does it do?

Quick Support codes
A 9-digit code, valid for 5 minutes, or a link. Nothing is installed and no account is created at the far end. Included on Support, and on Access from the Business plan.
Unattended access
Install Host once on a computer you are allowed to open, then connect when nobody is there. The person who uses that computer needs no DeskZap account.
File transfer and remote print
Move a file either way during the session, and send one print job from the remote computer to a printer on your side.
Per-monitor sessions
When the desk has more than one screen, each display opens on its own. Included on Support, and on Access from the Business plan.
Activity log
Each session records the named person, the machine and the time: the line you can put on a ticket.
Encryption and sign-in
Every session is AES-256 end-to-end encrypted and the relay cannot decrypt the screen. Access operator accounts use two-factor authentication.
Self-hosted control plane
Run the control plane on infrastructure you manage, on the Access Advanced plan or with a Support seat.

Runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. The full list is on the DeskZap features page.

Questions

Who makes DeskZap?

DeskZap is built by our team at Hot Rocket Software as a UK product for UK teams. Its own site, deskzap.co.uk, has the full details, current prices and the way to sign up.

Can I use DeskZap to reach my work computer from home?

Yes. That is what DeskZap Access is for. You install DeskZap Host once on the computer you want to reach, with the owner's agreement, then connect to it from your own computer. Access has a 7-day free trial.

Does the person I am helping need to install anything?

Not for a one-off. They give you a 9-digit Quick Support code, valid for five minutes, or open a link. Nothing is installed and they create no account. When the five minutes end, nothing is left on the computer.

Which computers does it work on?

The DeskZap client and Host run on Windows, macOS and Linux. There is no phone or tablet client.

Is it secure?

Every session is AES-256 end-to-end encrypted, and the relay cannot decrypt the screen. The activity log names the person, the machine and the time, and Access operator accounts use two-factor authentication. Teams that need to keep the control plane on their own infrastructure can self-host it.

What does DeskZap cost?

DeskZap Access starts at £5 per user a month, or £50 a year on Starter. DeskZap Support is £15 per technician a month, or £180 a year. Current prices are on deskzap.co.uk.
