API development and integration
API development and integration from Hot Rocket Software, a team of software, website and digital marketing specialists based in the UK, with 19 years in IT. APIs and integrations that connect your CRM, accounts, booking and line-of-business systems, so data is entered once and moves on its own.

What is API development and integration?
API integration means connecting your systems so data is entered once and flows where it is needed: a booking creates the invoice, a won deal creates the project, a form reaches the CRM. We build APIs for your own software and robust connections to third-party tools, with retries, logging and alerts when something fails.

Who is it for?
- Teams re-typing data between two or more systems
- Businesses with a system that has an API nobody is using
- Software products that need a public or partner API
01.06.2
From a small business to a large organisation
The same team takes on a single tool for a small business and long-running work for large companies and the public sector. Here is what each end looks like.
For a small business
Linking two or three tools you already pay for, so details are typed in once and appear everywhere they are needed.
For large companies and the public sector
Large integration programmes across finance, HR, CRM and line-of-business systems, with monitoring, retries and clear ownership.
- Integration platforms and APIs
- Data platforms and reporting
- Migration from legacy interfaces
- Integration with older, on-premises systems

What you get
- 01Integration map: systems, data, direction and owner
- 02REST or GraphQL APIs with OpenAPI documentation
- 03Webhooks, queues and retries so failures do not lose data
- 04Monitoring and alerting on every integration
- 05An MCP server on top, if you want AI assistants to use it

How we approach it
Discover
Where data is re-keyed, and what goes wrong today.
Scope
Which systems, which fields, what happens on failure.
Build
Integrations with tests against sandbox accounts.
Launch
Back-fill historic data and run in parallel before switching.
Support
Watch for API changes from the vendors you depend on.

Questions
Why not use Zapier or Make?
For simple, low-volume flows, use them. A custom integration earns its keep when volumes grow, when logic gets complicated, when you need proper error handling, or when per-task pricing starts to hurt.
What if a system has no API?
There are often other routes: exports, email parsing, a database connection or a supported file drop. We will assess what is reliable and what is not.
Can AI assistants use our APIs?
Yes, through an MCP server that exposes chosen, permissioned actions. See MCP server development.

What could this look like for you?
Example ideas, not client case studies.
- Systems that talk to each other: Orders, contacts and invoices copy themselves between your shop, accounts and CRM.
- Invoice and document reader: Invoices, delivery notes and forms are read, checked and filed into the right system.
- Monday morning report: Last week's figures from your tills, bookings and accounts, in one short email.
